प्राचीन बौद्ध स्थळ ‘सारनाथ’चा युनेस्कोच्या जागतिक वारसा यादीत समावेश

भारताच्या सांस्कृतिक आणि आध्यात्मिक वारशात आणखी एक मानाचा सुवर्णपान जोडले गेले आहे. युनेस्कोने (UNESCO) उत्तर प्रदेशातील वाराणासीजवळील ऐतिहासिक आणि प्राचीन बौद्ध स्थळ ‘सारनाथ’चा अधिकृतपणे जागतिक वारसा स्थळांच्या (World Heritage Site) यादीत समावेश केल्याची घोषणा केली आहे. युनेस्कोने आपल्या अधिकृत ‘X’ हँडलवरून यासंदर्भातील घोषणा करताना,“ब्रेकिंग! युनेस्को विश्व वारसा यादीत नवीन नाव: सारनाथ, भारताचे प्राचीन बौद्ध स्थळ”अशी पोस्ट केली आहे. या ऐतिहासिक आणि गौरवास्पद घोषणेमुळे देशभरात आनंदाचे वातावरण पसरले आहे.
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदींकडून आनंद व्यक्त
या ऐतिहासिक घोषणेवर देशवासीयांच्यावतीने तीव्र आनंद व्यक्त करताना पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी आपल्या अधिकृत संदेशात म्हटले आहे:
> “प्रत्येक भारतीयासाठी हा अत्यंत अभिमानाचा क्षण आहे! उत्तर प्रदेशातील सारनाथला युनेस्कोच्या जागतिक वारसा यादीत स्थान मिळाल्याचा मला अतिशय आनंद आहे. सारनाथचा भगवान बुद्धांशी अतिशय जवळचा आणि गहिरा संबंध आहे. त्यांचे ज्ञान, करुणा आणि सद्भावाचा शाश्वत संदेश संपूर्ण जगाला प्रेरणा देतो. ही मान्यता भारताच्या अथांग सांस्कृतिक आणि आध्यात्मिक वारशाचा गौरव करते. यामुळे जगभरातील जास्तीत जास्त लोक सारनाथला भेट देतील आणि भगवान बुद्धांच्या विचारांशी जोडले जातील.”

सारनाथचे ऐतिहासिक व आध्यात्मिक महत्त्व
भगवान गौतम बुद्धांनी आपले पहिले प्रवचन (धर्मचक्रप्रवर्तन) याच पवित्र भूमीवर आपल्या पाच शिष्याicडे दिले होते, ज्याला बौद्ध धर्मात अत्यंत महत्त्व आहे. सम्राट अशोकाने बांधलेला जगप्रसिद्ध ‘अशोकस्तंभ’ (ज्यावरून भारताचे राष्ट्रीय प्रतीक स्वीकारले गेले आहे) आणि धम्मेक स्तूप याच ठिकाणी स्थित आहेत. जागतिक वारसा स्थळाचा दर्जा मिळाल्यामुळे आता या जागतिक पर्यटन व आध्यात्मिक केंद्राचा विकास अधिक वेगाने होण्यास आणि जागतिक पातळीवर त्याचे महत्त्व वाढण्यास मदत होणार आहे.

UNESCO shared the milestone on its official ‘X’ handle with the post: “Breaking! New item on the UNESCO World Heritage List: Sarnath, Buddhist Site of Ancient India.” This historic announcement has brought immense joy and pride to citizens across the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Expresses Delight
Sharing immense joy over this historic recognition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in his message:

Historical and Spiritual Significance of Sarnath
Sarnath holds supreme religious and historical importance as the sacred ground where Lord Gautam Buddha delivered his first sermon (Dhammacakkappavattana) to his five disciples. The site is home to the world-renowned Ashoka Pillar—from which India’s National Emblem is adopted—as well as the majestic Dhamek Stupa. Earning the World Heritage status is expected to further accelerate the global tourism and spiritual development of Sarnath, elevating its prominence on the world map.
